Provide specialized nursing care during night shifts in a dynamic cardiac and medical-surgical unit located in Deville, LA. This contract opportunity offers a chance to advance clinical skills while supporting patients with conditions such as myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and med-surg overflow cases. The unit performs multiple cardiac drips management and requires adaptability and clinical competence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering nursing care aligned with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice through assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients.
• Managing cardiac drips without nitrate administration while monitoring patient response to prescribed treatments.
• Addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social aspects of patient care.
• Accurately documenting patient histories, symptoms, medications, and treatments.
• Assessing educational needs and providing relevant information to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborating effectively with the care team through appropriate delegation and assignment to manage patient load.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of employment or holding a compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred but not required.
• Completion of organizational orientation and competency validations within designated timeframes.

Schedule & Work Type:

• Full-time, Night Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• Floating to other units as needed.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1.
• No on-call duties.
