Deliver exceptional, patient-focused care as a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry. This contract opportunity offers full-time night shifts (7PM 7AM) and involves caring for patients chiefly experiencing MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med surg overflow. Telemetry nurses in this department play a key role in cardiac medication administration and frequently manage cardiac drips (excluding nitrate drips).
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 7PM 7AM
- Full-time hours
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of employment or compact state
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- At least one year of experience in telemetry or a related specialty preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation)
- Apply clinical expertise in caring for patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions
- Administer medications and treatments, monitoring their effectiveness and side effects according to protocol
- Complete accurate documentation of patient status and care provided
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and ongoing care needs
- Participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation, ensuring up-to-date skills and compliance with organizational standards
Additional Information:
- Initial orientation and competency validation are required for new hires
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 5:1, may occasionally be 6:1
