Job Description

Deliver exceptional care as a Registered Nurse on a dedicated Telemetry unit, working alongside an experienced team in a supportive hospital setting. This contract opportunity allows you to showcase your clinical expertise while caring for patients requiring specialized cardiac monitoring and recovery, including those post-heart catheterization, supported by state-of-the-art equipment and a positive, engaged team culture.

Schedule / Shift:

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
  • Previous Telemetry or cardiac unit experience highly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude and a high level of engagement with both patients and fellow staff

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess telemetry patients, maintaining a safe nurse-to-patient ratio (generally 1:6, 1:4 for Heart Cath recovery)
  • Handle advanced equipment such as PCA and IV pumps, chest tubes, and central lines
  • Administer medications, including drips, and oversee specialized cardiac recovery procedures
  • Collaborate with an experienced night shift team of RNs, Patient Care Techs, and Unit Clerks
  • Utilize Meditech EMR for high-quality, accurate documentation
  • Adhere to established policies, safety guidelines, and unit best practices to ensure excellent patient outcomes
