An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to contribute specialized care on a Telemetry unit. In this important role, you will be relied upon to provide focused monitoring and interventions for patients with cardiac and complex medical conditions. Your clinical skills and ability to quickly respond to changes in patient status will ensure a high standard of care for those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring on a busy hospital ward.
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least one year RN experience in a Telemetry or step-down unit
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and equipment
- Able to thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
Schedule:
- Contract assignment, schedule to be provided by unit manager
Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation for patients on cardiac telemetry
- Interpret tele strips and promptly report rhythm changes or abnormalities
- Administer cardiac medications and other therapies per physician order
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, cardiac precautions, and discharge needs
- Adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and documentation policies
- Help manage admissions, transfers, and discharges
