This assignment is a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of cardiac and telemetry nursing. Youll work nights (7:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.) in a specialized unit caring for diverse patients, with a nurse-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing. Expect to expand your practice skills, refine your leadership through delegation and assignment, and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative team. Exposure to varying protocols and leadership styles within this setting will not only elevate your clinical practice but also enhance your professional network and resume.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full time, night shifts (7PM 7AM)
- Every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in state of employment or compact
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a related specialty preferred
- Commitment to complete New Nurses Orientation, organizational entry, and MedSurg-specific competency requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a telemetry/cardiac unit (not stepdown)
- Administer medications and treatments with ongoing assessment of effectiveness
- Perform detailed patient assessments and documentation
- Educate patients and families, identifying resources to support best outcomes
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately to care team members
- Meet annual and organizational competency standards
