Job Description
A skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Telemetry is needed for a full-time contract assignment on a busy cardiac and telemetry unit (not a stepdown). The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and demonstrates sound clinical judgment with a patient-first approach. This role requires evening/night shifts, providing vital care to patients with cardiac needs while collaborating with a supportive interdisciplinary team.
Schedule:
- Full Time
- Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in state of employment or compact licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
- Minimum 12 years of recent nursing experience required
- At least 6 months of recent Telemetry experience essential
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Care for cardiac and telemetry patients with patient ratios of 5:16:1 based on staffing
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer and monitor medications and treatments, documenting all care provided and monitoring for side effects
- Provide patient and family education, identify resources, and participate in developing long-term care strategies
- Assign and delegate tasks appropriately to optimize team effectiveness and patient care
- Complete annual competency verifications and participate in ongoing organizational orientation and skills training
