Job Description

Step into a vital nursing role delivering high-quality care to cardiac and telemetry patients within a collaborative and supportive acute care environment. This full-time, contract position offers a structured schedule and the chance to make a significant difference for patients who require advanced monitoring but do not meet stepdown criteria.

Schedule:

  • 7:00am 7:00pm, day shift
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both routine and complex nursing care, utilizing the full nursing process from assessment to evaluation.
  • Address complex emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
  • Administer medicines and treatments per protocol, tracking therapeutic effectiveness and side effects.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient histories, symptoms, and interventions.
  • Educate patients and families, identifying learning needs and available resources.
  • Manage care assignments effectively and delegate tasks to other providers as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (state of employment or compact)
  • BLS certification (AHA), required
  • ACLS certification (AHA), required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • At least one year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty preferred
  • Commitment to attend New Nurses Orientation and complete all required clinical competency verifications
  • Comfortable working with a nurse/patient ratio of 5:16:1
