Job Description

Seeking an experienced RN with a strong background in cardiac telemetry for a dedicated telemetry unit. This 13-week contract offers night shifts (1900-0730), with a guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per weekplease specify your preference when applying. Every other weekend shifts are required; no call shifts are included. Orientation will be held during the day, and candidates should be available the entire week.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (eligible or current in Missouri)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient cardiac telemetry experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Proficient in reading telemetry, managing CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients
  • Experience with Amiodarone and Cardizem drips, working with central lines (HD caths, Ports, PICCs)
  • Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
  • Preferred: Experience with Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation, vasoactive drips, CIWA protocol, and management of chest tubes and other drains

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive, compassionate direct patient care across all age groups
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Assess, monitor, and document cardiac rhythms and patient conditions
  • Manage acute medical emergencies in a high-acuity cardiac/telemetry setting
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to staff and ensure safe, effective patient care at all times
  • Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to the highest standards, including infection control and Code of Conduct

This unit is fast-paced, supported by monitor techs and advanced patient monitoring equipment (EPIC EMR). Scrub attire includes black tops and pants with a facility logo.
