Job Description

Step into a vital nursing role providing care for cardiac and telemetry patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. This full-time, contract position is designed for an experienced Registered Nurse who demonstrates clinical autonomy and strong judgment in managing a diverse patient population on a telemetry unit (not a stepdown unit).

Schedule:

  • Night shifts: 7:00 pm 7:00 am
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call expectation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months in telemetry required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Active RN license in the state of employment or compact state
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with the nursing process
  • Capacity to address complex emotional, psychological, and social needs for patients and their families

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver evidence-based cardiac and telemetry care, following hospital protocols and patient safety guidelines
  • Accurately document patient status, medication administration, and all care provided
  • Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and potential side effects
  • Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning
  • Delegate and coordinate tasks to ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in orientation and annual competency programs as required

Additional Role Expectations:

  • Attend comprehensive orientation and preceptorship program for new hires
  • Achieve and maintain all required competencies through ongoing training and validation
