Job Description

Take the next step in advancing your nursing career with this exciting opportunity in a dynamic telemetry environment. This contract role requires a skilled RN whose clinical knowledge and leadership abilities ensure high-quality patient care across a busy telemetry/cardiac unit (not step-down).

Schedule:

  • Day shifts, 7:00am 7:00pm
  • Full time
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in the state of employment or compact
  • BLS and ACLS certification from AHA (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience in cardiac/telemetry nursing strongly preferred
  • Strong documentation, assessment, and patient education skills
  • Ability to attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire (required for all new RNs)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on cardiac and telemetry populations
  • Independently manage routine and complex patient needs, adept at prioritizing and delegating tasks to care providers as appropriate
  • Administer medications/treatments and monitor effectiveness and side effects per protocol
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and educational support to patients and families
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the medical record
  • Participate in ongoing competency validation and organizational orientation/onboarding

Role Details:

  • Nurse/patient ratio typically 5:1-6:1, depending on staffing
  • Completion of annual competency requirements expected
  • Opportunities for temp-to-perm placement may be available
