Take the next step in advancing your nursing career with this exciting opportunity in a dynamic telemetry environment. This contract role requires a skilled RN whose clinical knowledge and leadership abilities ensure high-quality patient care across a busy telemetry/cardiac unit (not step-down).
Schedule:
- Day shifts, 7:00am 7:00pm
- Full time
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of employment or compact
- BLS and ACLS certification from AHA (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Minimum one year of experience in cardiac/telemetry nursing strongly preferred
- Strong documentation, assessment, and patient education skills
- Ability to attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire (required for all new RNs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on cardiac and telemetry populations
- Independently manage routine and complex patient needs, adept at prioritizing and delegating tasks to care providers as appropriate
- Administer medications/treatments and monitor effectiveness and side effects per protocol
- Provide emotional, psychological, and educational support to patients and families
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the medical record
- Participate in ongoing competency validation and organizational orientation/onboarding
Role Details:
- Nurse/patient ratio typically 5:1-6:1, depending on staffing
- Completion of annual competency requirements expected
- Opportunities for temp-to-perm placement may be available
