Job Description

Deliver specialized nursing care in a dynamic step-down unit, providing critical support to patients transitioning from intensive care. This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses with a minimum of three years of experience who thrive in fast-paced environments and have expertise in cardiovascular and vascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage patients on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP ventilatory support.
  • Administer stable drip (GTT) management according to established protocols.
  • Provide skilled nursing care for postoperative patients following procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA repair, lobectomy, and carotid endarterectomy (CEA).
  • Assess and intervene for acute cardiac events including NSTEMI, STEMI, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and manage pacers.
  • Deliver care for complex conditions such as sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) recovery, respiratory failure, and tracheostomy management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 3 years step-down unit or cardiac nursing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular postoperative care.
  • Proficiency in managing advanced respiratory support and cardiac rhythms.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle critically ill patients with diverse, complex needs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
