This contract opportunity is designed for Registered Nurses who have experience and confidence in providing specialized support for patients transitioning from critical care. Working collaboratively with an expert healthcare team, you will play an essential role in monitoring patient status, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring smooth recovery processes.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and titration of critical drips
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
Schedule:
- Full-time contract
- Rotating shifts as assigned
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor patients who are stable but require extended observation and interventions
- Respond to changes in patient condition promptly, utilizing appropriate protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery, post-acute management, and preventive care
- Document all assessments, treatments, and communications accurately in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance
