Highly skilled registered nurses are needed to provide exceptional care in a dynamic stepdown/ICU overflow unit. This contract opportunity features a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow environment where nurses care for high-acuity patients and collaborate with an expert team. Unit staff enjoy access to state-of-the-art technology, including targeted temperature management, ventilators, and electronic documentation with Cerner. Staffed by dedicated RNs, the unit fosters professional growth and values collaboration and flexibility.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive, bedside care for a diverse patient population in ICU and PCU settings
• Perform advanced nursing interventions, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage and administer critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Assist providers during bedside procedures such as chest tube insertions and intubations
• Communicate effectively during mandatory bedside shift reports and nurse leader rounding
• Float as needed to other units within the hospital to ensure seamless patient care

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum recent experience in a medical ICU at a large facility
• Proficiency in ventilator management, critical care pharmacology, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation is preferred
• Strong critical thinking abilities and adaptability in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
• Exceptional teamwork, communication, and flexibility
