Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a stepdown or progressive care environment
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response protocols
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings
  • Excellent communication skills and a dedicated, compassionate approach to patient care
  • Previous experience at a large or academic medical center is highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the cardiac stepdown department
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond promptly to changes in patient status
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, and allied health professionals
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery plans, and discharge instructions
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly and accurately
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
