Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license
  • Recent clinical experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit preferred
  • Competence in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and post-acute patient assessment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

Schedule/Hours:

  • Variable shifts, including possible weekends and holidays, to meet patient care needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in a stepdown environment, focusing on stabilization and ongoing assessment
  • Monitor vital signs, respond to rapid changes in patient condition, and implement physician-ordered interventions
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with facility protocols
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-discharge instructions and recovery goals
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and adhere to infection control standards
