Deliver high-quality nursing care in a dynamic stepdown unit, providing critical support to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical floors. As a Registered Nurse in this specialized environment, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a group of patients, ensuring both safety and outstanding patient and family-centered care. Your expertise will be vital in promoting customer satisfaction, maintaining quality outcomes, and contributing to the professional development of the healthcare team.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license with stepdown experience strongly preferred
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Competence in developing, implementing, and revising patient care plans
- Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and precepting abilities
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and reassessments as required by patient condition and policy
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and periodically update individualized plans of care
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to support care objectives
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions, ensuring accurate and timely records
- Provide comprehensive education for patients and families throughout their stay and upon discharge
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately to licensed and non-licensed team members
- Foster a positive team environment, facilitating communication, collaboration, and practice improvements
- Participate in safety, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives as part of the governance structure
