As a Stepdown RN in a progressive care unit with 32 beds, youll handle a spectrum of acute casesranging from CHF and dysrhythmias to stroke care, diabetes, and more, all without the need for mechanical ventilation. Working here will enable you to build your clinical expertise in a supportive, family-oriented culture while expanding your resume with new experiences and adapting to new technology platforms like EPIC and Omnicell.
Schedule/Hours:
- Schedule cycles in 6-week intervals
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call duties
- Expectation to work 75% of holidays
- Floating required across multiple regional facilities within scope of practice (paid time for mid-shift travel)
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- At least 18 months of recent PCU RN experience
- Skilled in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care, central line management
- Open to first-time travelers eager for professional growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 depending on acuity
- Deliver focused care for adults with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and infectious conditions
- Collaborate with a dedicated support system (CNA, HUC/receptionist, 24/7 RT, Hospitalist/Intensivist, Charge RN)
- Float within the region to similar care settings as needed
