Working in a progressive, 241-bed facility with a well-respected Progressive Care Unit (PCU), youll broaden your acute care experience and gain exposure to a wide range of conditions including cardiac events, stroke, respiratory illnesses, and more. Frequent collaboration with specialistsincluding dedicated hospitalists, intensivists, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and a supportive charge nurseensures youll develop resilience and confidence in both independent and team-based care. The facility operates EPIC EMR, uses state-of-the-art technology, and offers invaluable cross-training through floating between multiple local sites.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Every other weekend rotation
  • Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
  • Call requirement: Possible low census call, with callback up to 3 a.m. (Nights) or 3 p.m. (Days)
  • Holiday coverage: Work 75% of holidays
  • Up to 6 days off approved (excluding holidays)
  • Orientation: Comprehensive two-day departmental and facility onboarding

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 months of stepdown/PCU RN experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, wound care, central line management
  • Confident with varying patient ratios (typically 1:4)
  • Flexibility to float within the region, as needed
  • Open to first-time travelers

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert care for diverse patient populations (CHF, dysrhythmia, stroke, renal, respiratory, and more)
  • Perform advanced assessments, therapies, and continuous patient monitoring
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care
  • Mentor and support CNAs and collaborate with charge nurses and ancillary staff
