Stepdown Registered Nurses play an essential role in delivering high-quality care to patients transitioning from critical care to general medical-surgical units. Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license.
• Previous experience in a stepdown unit or similar setting is highly desired.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid).
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with the use of cardiac monitoring equipment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Flexible shift availability, including days, nights, and potential weekends as needed by the unit.

Main Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients transitioning from intensive to lower acuity levels of care, promptly recognizing any change in patient status.
• Implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans in partnership with interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer medications, manage intravenous therapies, and perform bedside procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge processes, and healthy recovery practices.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and ensure effective hand-offs during shift changes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold professional standards at all times.
