A nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs specializing in stepdown care at a well-established hospital in the Saint Peters, MO area. This contract role offers a chance to provide critical care to patients requiring close monitoring on a respiratory-heavy medical-surgical intermediate unit during night shifts. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic environment caring for patients with complex conditions such as respiratory failure, overdose, and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license valid for Missouri or eligibility to obtain one
• Minimum of 1 year experience in inpatient stepdown nursing
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Competence in managing tracheostomy, ventilator, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment
• Ability to function effectively within a team and adapt to flexible scheduling
• Dependable with strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills

Role Details:

• Location: Saint Peters, MO
• Shift: Nights (19000730)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (flexible, to be indicated on submission)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 RN to 3-4 patients
• Unit Features: 22 beds, use of EPIC EMR, respiratory focus including advanced airway management
• Dress Code: Black scrubs required; other attire not permitted

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
• Maintain patient confidentiality and rights in accordance with privacy standards
