Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (option for 48 hours on request)
  • 13-week assignment starting 6/15, with bi-weekly orientation
  • Expect three weekends per six-week period; holidays per rotation

As a core member of the stepdown team, youll care for a varied patient populationincluding cardiac, post-surgical, neuro, and high-acuity medical casesacross well-supported units with a reputation for teamwork and clinical excellence. Floating may be required within area campuses (notice provided), allowing you to adapt your skills and expand your professional repertoire. You'll also have the prospect to mentor students or new hires, enhancing your own leadership development in this teaching environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in stepdown and one previous travel assignment
  • Experience in trauma Level II facility required
  • Current active compact RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be submitted with application)
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting is essential
  • Demonstrated abilities in telemetry, EKG interpretation, critical drip management, neuro assessments, and strong critical thinking
  • Preferred: Experience with home vents, advanced drains, and complex assessment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care for complex stepdown patients
  • Accurately interpret telemetry and manage cardiac interventions
  • Perform post-surgical and neuro assessments
  • Collaborate within skilled interdisciplinary teams and support students/new hires as needed
