Job Description

Stepdown Registered Nurses play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical floors. In this contract role, you will contribute your clinical expertise within a dynamic, supportive healthcare setting dedicated to excellence in patient outcomes.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license.
  • Minimum of one year recent experience working in a Stepdown, Progressive Care, or similar acute care unit.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor complex patient populations, prioritizing care for those requiring close observation and frequent assessments.
  • Administer medications, perform interventions, and coordinate care plans for Stepdown patients.
  • Respond to changes in patient condition quickly and effectively, initiating appropriate nursing and physician interventions.
  • Collaborate with fellow nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, plans of care, and discharges for optimal recovery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of nursing assessments, care delivered, and patient progress.
