Job Description

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for stepdown and progressive care. This contract position is ideal for professionals seeking dynamic patient care environments and the flexibility of 36 or 48-hour workweeks. The role is based at a leading facility, supporting a 55-bed progressive care unit dedicated to cardiovascular patients. Night shift hours are 18:30 07:00, working 4x12-hour shifts per week. Nurses interested in expanding their clinical experience, including first-time or local travelers, are encouraged to apply.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (18:30 07:00)
  • Options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation as needed
  • Floating required within the facility

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 1+ years recent stepdown or PCU nursing experience (2 years preferred)
  • Cardiovascular care experience required
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required); CPI (preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC documentation system preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, compassionate care to progressive care (PCU) patients, focusing on those with cardiovascular needs
  • Manage patient ratios averaging 1:4
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team and participate in facility float assignments
  • Employ critical thinking to address rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Accurately document all patient care and interactions using EPIC
  • Adhere to facility protocols, flexible with scrub color (plain/unbranded)
