This position offers exposure to a dynamic Progressive Care Unit in a 15-bed setting (3 stepdown ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds), equipping you with hands-on experience using Meditech charting, Pyxis for medications, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring. Not only will you expand your knowledge with diverse procedures like telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugars, you'll also benefit from collaborating with multifaceted teams and leadership styles.

Youll have the chance to float to a variety of acute care units, expanding your resume with a rich variety of patient care experienceswhile exploring all the unique culture and scenery Pahoa has to offer during your time off.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Orientation during the first week followed by a consistent 36-hour work week
  • No on-call expectations
  • Flexibility required with potential shifts across all acute units

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (Hawaii required by assignment startapply upon offer if not yet obtained)
  • Minimum 1 year recent hospital acute care experience; progressive care and telemetry preferred
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (preferred)
  • Primary nursing care skills, including telemetry and blood sugar monitoring
  • Attendance for employee health appointment required prior to assignment start
  • Ability to adapt and float between medical, surgical/pediatrics, ICU, and ER as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver progressive and stepdown nursing care
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry strips
  • Document accurately using Meditech
  • Utilize critical care equipment and maintain medication safety
  • Provide safe, compassionate care in a flexible team environment
