Job Description

A healthcare facility in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse with Pediatric Stepdown experience for a contract position. This role demands dedication and expertise in delivering specialized care to pediatric patients in a stepdown setting. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands-on experience in either PICU or Pediatric PCU, with a focus on providing high-quality nursing care. Experience floating between PICU and Pediatric PCU alone will not meet the requirement.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in PICU or Pediatric PCU nursing
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Skilled in pediatric stepdown nursing practices
  • Ability to float within the children's hospital specifically at PCU and med surg levels
  • Compliance with scrub code: Navy Blue

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a stepdown unit
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care plans
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
  • Assist with med surg level patients as needed within the float capacity
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to all safety protocols
  • Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, ensuring continuity of care
