Schedule & Hours

  • 13-week contract with start dates bi-weekly (beginning 5/18)
  • Night shifts: 12 hours (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (excluding certain holidays and orientation week)
  • Three weekends required per six-week schedule
  • Floating required within skillset to nearby campuses with advance notice

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years current stepdown experience plus 1 travel contract, or 5 years stepdown if no travel background
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required at submission
  • Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class provided)
  • Proficiency in tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post-heart cath care, and titration of common drips
  • Demonstrated strength in assessment and critical thinking

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized care for post-cardiac and neuro patients (including STEMI/NSTEMI, CVA, seizures, sepsis, and DKA)
  • Interpret EKGs and manage complex cardiac and neuro assessment protocols
  • Float between stepdown and med-surg/tele units as patient needs dictate
  • Serve as a resource/preceptor for students and new staff as needed
