This night-shift assignment on a dynamic Stepdown Cardiac Neuro unit promises a stimulating and supportive atmosphere. Advance your professional development by collaborating with seasoned clinicians, working with EPIC charting, and engaging with a diverse patient population spanning cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical cases. The exposure to innovative practices, unique leadership, and teaching hospital protocols will significantly enhance your clinical skillset and rsum.

Schedule/Hours

  • 13-week travel contract
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week (in most weeks)
  • 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM 7 AM)
  • Three weekends required per six-week schedule
  • Every other holiday coverage
  • Bi-weekly orientation

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and neuro stepdown patients
  • Float to nearby partner campuses as needed (with appropriate notice)
  • Perform advanced assessments and interventions, including post-cardiac procedure care and titrating critical drips
  • Manage telemetry and interpret 12-lead EKGs (tele test required)
  • Provide strong neuro assessments; respond to STEMI/NSTEMI, sepsis, and DKA
  • Mentor students/new hires as part of the teaching hospital environment
  • Document efficiently with EPIC after required checkoff

Qualifications

  • Active compact RN license
  • Current AHA BLS & ACLS, NIHSS certification (attach with application)
  • Minimum 2 years recent Stepdown RN experience (plus 1 travel assignment), or 5 years if no travel experience
  • Proficient in EPIC charting
  • Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
