An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced RN with Stepdown Cardiac Neuro expertise to join a progressive clinical team on a 13-week travel assignment in Mount Vernon, IN. This role offers enriching night shifts in a specialized stepdown unit with a focus on post-procedure cardiac and neuro patient care in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients post heart catheterization, stents, pacers, ICDs, and ablations.
• Manage tele/12-lead EKG interpretation and care for STEMI/NSTEMI patients.
• Initiate and titrate critical drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin.
• Perform strong neurological assessments using NIHSS for CVAs, seizures, and possible TBI cases.
• Deliver sepsis care and handle chest tube maintenance and PIV insertions.
• Collaborate within a 19-bed blended unit, floating across nearby campuses as required within skillset.

Qualifications:

• Current active compact RN license.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certification.
• Minimum 2 years Stepdown experience plus at least 1 travel contract, or 5 years Stepdown with no travel.
• Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required).
• Demonstrated critical thinking and strong assessment skills.
• Successful completion of tele testing prior to assignment.

Schedule & Floating:

• 12-hour night shifts (6:30 pm 7:00 am).
• Three weekends every six-week schedule; every other holiday.
• Float within skillset to nearby campuses with advance notice.
