Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care nursing
- Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythm monitoring, ventilator care, and post-acute medical treatments
- Competency in response to emergencies and rapid changes in patient conditions
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Skilled in effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in documenting within electronic medical records
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients in a stepdown unit, monitoring stability and recognizing early signs of deterioration
- Administer medications, monitor vitals, and perform complex nursing interventions
- Collaborate closely with providers, respiratory therapists, and allied health professionals to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate patients and families about treatments, procedures, and next steps in recovery
- Ensure best practices for infection control, safety, and compliance with healthcare protocols
- Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses
