Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care nursing
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythm monitoring, ventilator care, and post-acute medical treatments
  • Competency in response to emergencies and rapid changes in patient conditions
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Skilled in effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in documenting within electronic medical records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients in a stepdown unit, monitoring stability and recognizing early signs of deterioration
  • Administer medications, monitor vitals, and perform complex nursing interventions
  • Collaborate closely with providers, respiratory therapists, and allied health professionals to develop and adjust care plans
  • Educate patients and families about treatments, procedures, and next steps in recovery
  • Ensure best practices for infection control, safety, and compliance with healthcare protocols
  • Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses
