Schedule/Hours:
- 48-hour contract for a deep-dive professional experience
This role places you in a 16-20 bed stepdown unit, specializing in high-acuity patient care. You'll be entrusted with a manageable 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, providing dedicated support for those facing complex health concerns like sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a stepdown or similar acute care setting
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Experience managing multiple complex diagnoses preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-focused nursing care across a spectrum of acute conditions
- Monitor and assess patients evolving needs, responding swiftly to changes in status
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to care planning
- Educate and support patients and families through transitions in care
- Ensure thorough documentation and safe administration of medications
