Step into a dynamic medical step-down unit with 16-20 beds, caring for patients with acute and complex conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, TDM2, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. The patient ratio is thoughtfully maintained at 1:4, ensuring you have ample opportunity for meaningful, hands-on care.
Schedule:
- 48-hour contract
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent stepdown or acute care experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency in managing complex medical conditions and monitoring critically ill adults
- Strong adaptability and a collaborative team approach
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients, supporting recovery from acute episodes
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to tailor individualized care plans
- Respond to rapid changes in patient conditions with a focus on safety and best practices
- Educate patients and families, fostering understanding and engagement in the care process
