This stepdown nursing assignment is a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skills in a dynamic setting, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and adapting to a range of clinical environments. Exposure to diverse workplace systems, leadership approaches, and a high-acuity patient population will broaden your clinical expertise and enhance your rsum with invaluable experience.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730)
- Three shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Minimal time off approved during June 11July 19 due to World Cup needs
- Orientation starts with two days at KUKC Campus, followed by onsite and virtual training
Desired Qualifications:
- Current KS or Compact RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Critical Care/ICU
- Proficiency with CRRT, Bipap, drawing labs, chest tubes, and PICC
- Able to manage consults, perform codes independently, and support patients without a vascular access team
- Prior experience floating to multiple inpatient units (including ICU, Med/Surg, Tele, and ED)
- Not accepting new graduates for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients
- Float to ICU and inpatient units as patient acuity demands
- Handle code responses, patient assessments, and manage advanced equipment
- Collaborate with providers, participate in consults, and support nursing leadership
