Working in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit, youll gain valuable experience with a diverse patient population and a broad range of complex clinical caseseverything from CHF and cardiac dysrhythmias to stroke and acute kidney injuries. Exposure to varied workplace practices across multiple facilities enhances your adaptability and skill set, while collaboration with multidisciplinary teamsincluding hospitalists, intensivists, RT, and phlebotomybuilds lasting professional value. Interaction with differing leadership approaches further supports your growth as a well-rounded nurse.
Schedule/Hours:
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Expectation to work 75% of holidays
- Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
- Approved time off: Up to 6 days (excluding holidays; extend assignment to meet contracted hours if necessary)
Required Qualifications:
- Current RN license with at least 18 months of PCU RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, caring for patients with traches, central line management, and experience with cardiac gtts, chest tubes, blood products, and wound care
- Flexibility to float between several regional facilities within your scope of practice
- EMR experience (EPIC), IV PumpAlaris, Med DispensingOmnicell, MonitorsPhillips
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients not requiring mechanical ventilation
- Collaborate with support staff, including CNAs, charge nurses, and other specialized teams
- Respond confidently to evolving patient needs in a fast-paced environment
