This travel nursing role offers the unique chance to broaden your clinical skill set in a progressive care environment, with exposure to a variety of patient populations including those with cardiac, neurological, and complex medical needs. Schedule/Hours
- Rotating weekends: every other weekend required
- Possible low census call; callback required up to 3am (Nights) or 3pm (Days)
- Holiday commitment: 75% of holidays
- Six-week scheduling cycles
- Orientation: 2 days department, facility NEO
- Up to 6 days off (RTO) outside of holidaysextend contract if unable to meet required hours
Qualifications/Desired Experience
- Minimum 18 months PCU RN experience
- Current, active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and gtt administration skills
- Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, blood products, central line management, and wound care
- Open to first-time travelers
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a typical 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 32-bed stepdown unit
- Care for patients with CHF, dysrhythmia, stroke, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, AKI/CKD, and more
- Collaborate with an expanded clinical team (CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT, RT, phlebotomy, hospitalist, intensivist)
- Float to various regional facilities within scope of practice (paid time if floating mid-shift)
- Utilize advanced EMR and monitoring equipment
