This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse experienced in stepdown and general medicine/oncology care. Youll work on a dynamic stepdown unit providing care for general medical and oncology patients, where expertise in chemotherapy administration and IV skills are essential.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift: three 12-hour shifts (19:00 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated (please specify requests)
• Assigned weekend shifts, other days may be self-scheduled
• Must be available the first two weeks of assignment

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS pending accepted; ONCC must be current)
• Minimum 2 years PCU/Stepdown nursing experience
• Proficient in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Familiarity with Welch Allyn Vital Sign Towers, Sigma IV pumps, and EPIC documentation system

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized and compassionate nursing care for stepdown and oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy and other IV medications safely and efficiently
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes promptly, and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
• Float as needed to other med/surg units, including AU and ER, providing care within your scope
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
• Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:4-6), with support as acuity demands
