Support patients recovering from complex cardiac and medical conditions in a specialized stepdown unit located in Asheville, NC. This travel nursing opportunity focuses on caring for individuals with cardiovascular and pulmonary issues in a 40-bed progressive care environment equipped with advanced technology like Zoll monitors and Baxter pumps. The role demands proficiency in telemetry monitoring and managing titratable cardiac IV medications and offers the chance to work alongside a collaborative, compassionate team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care to patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and post-procedural cardiac care
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications including nitroglycerine, amiodarone, dopamine, and insulin drips with precision
- Monitor telemetry and utilize equipment such as bladder scanners and lift devices effectively
- Perform bedside cardioversions as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain clear communication with patients and families
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with proven stepdown or progressive care experience
- Telemetry proficiency is essential
- Skilled in managing titratable cardiac IV medications
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Preferred: experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and prior relief charge nurse experience
- Adaptable, positive team player demonstrating compassion and flexibility
Schedule:
- Day shifts with every other weekend commitment
