This travel nursing role in a highly respected stepdown unit emphasizes professional growth and adaptability. Key Details:
- 23-bed stepdown and 16-bed med surg unit
- Patient ratios: 1:3-4 (stepdown), 1:4-6 (med surg)
- Equipment includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and trachs
- Unit uses Cerner EMR
- Navy blue scrubs required
Schedule:
- 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) every 6 weeks
- Floating to other med surg and progressive care units may be required
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with 2+ years nursing experience
- Direct experience with tracheostomies
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Preferred: Familiarity with Cerner and prior experience in progressive care/stepdown settings
- Flexibility, high clinical competence, and ability to adapt to new practices
Typical Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care in stepdown and med surg environments
- Perform procedures such as trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, float as needed, and uphold top-quality, patient-centered care
