Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum of one year of recent stepdown or progressive care experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Experience with monitoring specialized equipment and managing complex patient cases
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, including prior experience as a charge nurse or willingness to take on charge responsibilities
• Adaptability in a dynamic hospital environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients, including assessments, medication administration, and care planning
• Continuously monitor patient status, document changes, and communicate with the care team
• Serve as charge nurse as needed, overseeing shift activities, delegating tasks, and supporting clinical staff
• Coordinate patient flow, admissions, and discharges effectively
• Advocate for patient safety and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery processes
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards
