Job Description
Stepdown Registered Nurses provide specialized care to patients who require closer monitoring and advanced interventions than offered on general medical-surgical units. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year stepdown, progressive care, or critical care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and titration of intravenous medications preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment with a defined duration
- Shifts may vary based on the facilitys needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients transitioning from intensive care to less acute settings
- Administer medications, including intravenous infusions, per protocols and physician orders
- Accurately document patient status, interventions, and progress
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition with sound clinical interventions
- Provide education and support to patients and their families during recovery and discharge preparation
