Serve as a skilled RN on a specialized step-down unit focused on general medical and oncology patients, providing critical care support in a dynamic hospital environment. This night shift position offers a rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise in chemotherapy administration and stepdown nursing in Hastings, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy via IV with proficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
• Initiate and manage intravenous lines effectively.
• Utilize equipment including Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps.
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records.
• Provide compassionate care to med/surg and oncology stepdown patients.
• Float to other med/surg areas including Acute Unit and Emergency Room as needed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6.
• Support unit needs by adapting assignment ratios during chemotherapy admissions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Michigan RN license with 2+ years of PCU/Stepdown experience.
• ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS pending acceptable).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proven competency in chemotherapy administration and IV starts.
• Ability to work independently and handle fluctuating patient needs.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and float to different units as required.

Scheduling:

• Night shift, 3x 12-hour shifts (7:00 pm 7:30 am).
• Weekends scheduled by management; weekdays via self-scheduling.
• Block scheduling may be accommodatedplease specify requests during application.
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Call responsibilities are not required.
