Job Description

Take on a critical nursing role specializing in stepdown care for general medical and oncology patients. This contract position requires a dedicated RN with proven stepdown/PCU expertise, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to adapt across units as needed.

Schedule & Hours:

• Night shifts: 3x12-hour, 19:00 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling may be an optionplease specify your request upon applying
• Self-scheduling available for non-weekend shifts
• Must be available for the first two weeks of assignment

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan RN License
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS may be pending, ONCC must be current)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Skilled with EPIC documentation, Welch Allyn Vital sign towers, and Sigma IV pumps

Responsibilities:

• Deliver stepdown care for general medical and oncology patients in a high-acuity unit (GMU)
• Administer chemotherapy and manage related patient needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, detailed documentation using EPIC
• Float as needed to other med/surg areas, including Admission Unit and ER (care for med/surg patients)
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6, with adjustment for assignment acuitysupport staff provided as needed
• Respond flexibly to changing patient loads and acuity levels

Additional Information:

• No on-call duties required
• Weekend shifts assigned by manager; flexibility for other days through self-scheduling
• Requests for time off after offer must be discussed with the on-site manager
