This stepdown environment offers exposure to diverse patient populationsranging from cardiac care to complex medical casesmaking it a perfect fit for those eager to expand their clinical experience. Schedule/Hours:
- Alternating weekend shifts: every other weekend
- No on-call expectations
- Holiday coverage at 75% of holidays
- Flexible time off: up to 6 approved days (excluding holidays), with straightforward contract extension if needed
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Minimum 18 months as a Stepdown/PCU RN
- Active RN license plus BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, blood products, wound care, and central line management
- Adaptable to floating within the local health network as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload (heart conditions, strokes, infections, diabetes, etc.) typically with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including CNAs, RNs, phlebotomy, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and intensivistsall available around the clock
- Utilize advanced technology: EPIC, Alaris pumps, Omnicell dispensing, Phillips monitors
- Deliver outstanding, compassionate care while supporting patient recovery and comfort
