This stepdown role places you at the center of an engaged, family-oriented unit within a leading regional medical center. You will care for a variety of patients, from CHF and dysrhythmia to abdominal illnesses and withdrawal syndromes, allowing you to refine clinical skills and work closely with dedicated support teamsfrom CNAs and phlebotomists to 24/7 RT and intensivist support.
Schedule:
- Weekend rotation: every other
- Holidays: Work 75% of holidays
- Call: Possible low census call
- Approved time off: Up to 6 days (excluding holidays, with contract adjustment as needed)
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 18 months PCU RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with trach care, cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, central line management
- Ability and willingness to float within regional sites (required)
- EPIC, Alaris, Omnicell, Phillips monitors experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality stepdown nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Monitor, assess, and respond to acute changes in patient status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to regional facilities according to patient care needs (transit during shift is paid work time)
- Engage in unit-based orientation and ongoing training
