Schedule/Hours:
- Weekend rotation: every other
- Potential for low census call
- Holiday expectation: 75% of holidays
- 6-week scheduling cycle
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- At least 18 months of recent Progressive Care/Stepdown experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Clinical competencies in tracheostomy care, cardiac titration drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
- Flexible to float within the local hospital region
- Comfortable with EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
- Open to first-time travelers
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cases (CHF, stroke, respiratory illnesses, AKI/CKD, dysrhythmias, etc.) for non-ventilated PCU patients
- Patient assignments are typically 1:4; may reach 1:5 based on acuity
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 RT, phlebotomy, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Monitor and respond to telemetry at both bedside and station
- Float within the region according to patient and staffing needs
