Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care in a 29-bed Surgical Stepdown unit focused on high-acuity post-operative and trauma patients. This role involves working night shifts with flexible guaranteed hours and a 13-week contract assignment, supporting patients requiring cardiac monitoring, BiPAP, and critical care interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Manage complex post-op and trauma patient care including cardiac drips and respiratory support.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards.
  • Float to other departments with equal or lower acuity as needed.
  • Adhere to facility dress code and infection control policies, including flu vaccination/exemption requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri.
  • Minimum 2 years in Stepdown or ICU nursing.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, time management, and patient care skills in high-acuity settings.
  • Positive attitude and effective problem-solving capabilities.

Schedule:

  • Nights: 1900-0730
