A registered nurse with stepdown experience is needed for an exciting contract opportunity located in Edgewood, NM. This role focuses on providing care in a 55-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit, supporting patients requiring specialized cardiac treatment and monitoring.
Key qualifications and experience include:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred
- Cardiovascular experience is required due to the nature of the unit
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; CPI certification preferred
- Ability to manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio effectively
- Comfortable working nights with 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Flexibility for weekend shifts as needed and willingness to float within the unit
Responsibilities encompass delivering high-quality stepdown nursing care, monitoring cardiovascular patients closely, utilizing EPIC documentation software, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
This position includes options for 36 or 48 hours weekly, providing some flexibility in scheduling. The unit operates on a rotating weekend schedule and occasionally uses block scheduling. Scrubs can be any color without logos, supporting professional attire preferences.
