A Registered Nurse with specialized experience in Pediatric Stepdown care is needed for a contract opportunity in Deltona, FL. This role offers the chance to provide critical nursing care within a dynamic pediatric hospital environment, supporting patients in the Pediatric Stepdown Unit. The position requires both clinical expertise and a compassionate approach to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients transitioning from intensive care.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU); floating between units is not acceptable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
- Skilled in managing complex pediatric patient cases on a stepdown level
- Ability to float within the childrens hospital to PCU and med-surg units
- Commitment to working 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling cycle
- Comfortable wearing navy blue scrubs as part of the professional dress code
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-level nursing care to pediatric patients requiring stepdown care
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and comfort
- Monitoring patient status closely and responding effectively to changes in condition
- Adhering to hospital policies and protocols to maintain a safe environment
- Supporting med-surg units when floated, enhancing flexibility and operational needs
