Job Description

Stepdown Registered Nurses play a vital role in providing specialized care for patients who are transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units. In this contract opportunity, youll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to support complex patient needs and monitor clinical progress.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in good standing
  • Stepdown nursing experience required
  • Proficiency in monitoring and managing advanced patient care technologies (cardiac telemetry, IV drips, etc.)
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, changing clinical environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while delivering excellent patient-focused care

Schedule/Hours:

  • Specific schedule details will be provided in the interview process; flexibility may be needed to support patient care needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous nursing care for post-ICU or high-acuity patients under physician direction
  • Monitor vital signs, recognize and act on acute changes or potential emergencies
  • Administer medications, treatments, and assess their effectiveness
  • Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and support personnel for holistic patient management
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and ongoing care requirements
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes following best practice and regulatory guidelines
