This stepdown unit serves a diverse patient population, from individuals experiencing respiratory or cardiac issues to those recovering from acute illnesses or stroke. Gain valuable experience in a teaching-inspired environment that values collaboration and hands-on learning, all while working with advanced healthcare technology like EPIC, Alaris pumps, and Philips monitors. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn new protocols, adapt to varying leadership approaches, and strengthen your resume with exposure to multiple facilities thanks to flexible floating within the region.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • 6-week scheduling cycles
  • Floating within the region as needed (paid for travel time between facilities)
  • Possibility of low census call; required to work 75% of holidays

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • At least 18 months of recent PCU RN experience
  • Valid RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, blood products, wound management, and central line care
  • Strong team player willing to float within regional facilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage 1:4 (possible 1:5) nurse-to-patient ratios
  • Deliver evidence-based care to patients with complex medical needs
  • Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, physicians, and support staff
  • Document efficiently in EPIC
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, patient education, and handoff processes
