Immerse yourself in the fast-paced environment of a renowned blended cardiac and neuro stepdown unit. Here, youll collaborate with an expert team under the guidance of a long-standing leader recognized for cultivating low turnover and exceptional morale. This experience will expose you to advanced post-procedure cardiac care, complex neuro cases, and a variety of leadership styles, all of which will expand your skill set and strengthen your professional portfolio.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 13-week contract
  • 12-hour nights (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
  • 36 hours guaranteed per week (bi-weekly orientation schedule)
  • Rotating weekends (three out of every six weeks)
  • Holiday coverage required (every other holiday)
  • Float as needed within skillset, potential for cross-campus assignments with advance notice

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active compact RN license
  • AHA BLS & ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • At least 2 years recent stepdown experience + 1 prior travel assignment, OR 5 years of solid stepdown experience if no travel record
  • Recent Epic charting experience (will complete checkoff class)
  • Proven knowledge of tele, 12-lead EKG, cardiac and neuro protocols, sepsis and DKA care
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to pass tele competency tests

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care for post-procedure cardiac, neuro, and complex medical stepdown patients
  • Initiate and titrate drips (including Cardizem, Amio, insulin, and more)
  • Perform accurate and timely assessments, interventions, and thorough documentation
  • Float within and between campuses as required
  • Support learning by precepting students or new hires, as needed
