Step into a dynamic nursing environment supporting a busy inpatient overflow unit with a mix of medical-surgical and step-down patients. This contract role offers hands-on experience with both quick turnover cases and higher-acuity care, ideal for Registered Nurses seeking a fast-paced, team-oriented space.
Schedule & Hours:
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call shifts
Desired Qualifications:
- Current, active RN licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Telemetry competency (required)
- Progressive Care experience (required)
- Recent progressive care experience (preferred)
- EMR experience with Cerner (preferred)
- Adaptability to float between units as assigned
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, attentive care for a patient load that may reach a 1:51:6 RN-to-patient ratio, depending on acuity
- Monitor patients using telemetry; all patients requiring monitoring are hardwired to bedside monitors
- Collaborate closely with a team composed of RNs, CNAs, and charge nurses across day and night shifts
- Care for both short-stay and step-down inpatients, providing high-level observation and interventions as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
- Demonstrate a patient-focused, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
- Float to other units when staffing needs require
Additional Details:
- Assigned scrub colors: navy and/or white top, navy bottom or all white
