This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Stepdown or Medical ICU nursing to serve in a fast-paced critical care environment. The role involves caring for patients in an ICU/PCU overflow unit. Candidates should be adept at complex hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management, working collaboratively with providers and team members.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure
- Proven experience in Medical ICU or stepdown settings within large healthcare facilities
- Proficient in ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Knowledgeable in critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
- Comfortable assisting with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
- Critical thinker with flexibility and strong teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Ability to wear navy blue or white scrubs as part of the dress code
Responsibilities:
- Care for 10 ICU/PCU overflow patients with acuity ratios of 2:1 in ICU and 4-5:1 in PCU
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and assist providers during bedside procedures
- Utilize equipment including ventilators, IV pumps, targeted temperature management devices, and lift equipment
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
- Participate in bedside shift reports and nurse leader rounding as part of patient experience initiatives
- Float between areas as needed in alignment with the units floating policy
- Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday support required
