Within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) focusing on Cardiac Surgery, youll deliver high-quality care for patients recovering from cardiac operations. This hands-on role exposes you to advanced cardiac clinical practices, varied workplace routines, and dynamic healthcare teams, offering valuable professional development. Schedule/Hours:
- Travel assignment, various shifts available (specifics provided upon interview)
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Proficiency in nursing care for post-cardiac surgery patients (Stepdown/PCU experience)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-cardiac surgery patients in a fast-paced stepdown/PCU environment
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
- Respond proactively to changes in patient conditions and participate in rapid response as needed
- Educate patients and families about recovery and home care
